Restoring Communities, Hearts, and Homes Impacted by America's Gun Violence Epidemic
During the 2019 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference, Million Hoodies Movement for Justice’s co-founder Dante Barry had the distinct honor of moderating a panel conversation about gun violence hosted by Senator Cory Booker.
The panel consisted of:
Elle Hearns, Founder and Executive Director - Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
Greg Jackson, Gun Violence Advocate - Community Justice Action Fund.
Michele Rayner-Goolsby, Civil Rights Attorney - Civil Liberty Law.
Adzi Vokhiwa, Federal Affairs Manager - Giffords.
The conversation included a discussion about Stand Your Ground, police brutality, poverty, domestic violence, trauma recovery, violence against Black trans women, CeaseFire and violence interruption, every day gun violence, and so much more. We are grateful to Senator Booker for bringing us all together for this important conversation.
